Hurricane Matthew

Post by MTS-Boomer on Wed Oct 12, 2016 8:31 pm

Good Morning,

So far I'm doing well and staying out of trouble. There are still road closings and the university is closed for the remainder of the week and they are advising the students not to return to the area until further notice. I heard on the news this morning that the river is expected to crest on Friday so water levels are still on the rise. I'm hoping that I remain to be as blessed as I am at this moment that my home stays dry, as there are creeks that surround my neighborhood.

Sincerely,

I saw the following email in another listserv offering GIS help to the hard hit areas in eastern NC if it is of interest to anyone.  Stay safe everyone!

Good Morning,

The folks here at Atlas would like to offer our services (Pro bono) to any of the hard hit Eastern NC areas suffering severe flood damage from Hurricane Matthew. Wilmington was spared by Matthew so we have the ability to help.  Damage Assessment tools, AGOL/Map Services, GIS Control Center, etc. etc.  Please pass this email along to anyone and everyone whom you know that may need help.

Thanks,
Hays

Want to commend Robeson County in Lumberton, NC. I went there to help out transporting their clients, and everyone I spoke with was very complimentary and appreciative of Roberson County on how smoothly everything was going given the disaster. Shelton Hill and his staff are to be commended on how well and quickly they organized everything there!

GREAT JOB ROBERSON COUNTY!!!
